Covered purse BOMs and New Testaments

New items for boutique next week.  The small books are Book of Mormons and the larger ones are the New Testaments.  They each have a ribbon to mark your spot.

Was very busy today so the best I could do was to cut out 7 bags.  I'm sure they'll be just as cute as the others.  Tomorrow I have to cut out the muslin and batting and then some sewing. yeah!!!!

It's been a couple of days since my last blog.  I've been busy sewing and getting things ready for the boutique.  I am hoping that I won't have to bring anything home. That would be great!

New bag plus two make-up bags.

 I finished kinda late at night so all natural light was gone.  I will take more pictures tomorrow so you can see the really great colours used.  I hate florescent lights and houses with living rooms without overhead lights. obnoxious!!!

 Newest bag.  Green is my favourite colour so I couldn't resist doing one in green.  Tomorrow I hope to do two more with one in pink.  Don't tell my sister though, it's her favourite colour and she'll insist that it's hers.

More bags

Well, I got a late start today, but I did get the fabric for five bags ironed and cut.  I think the fabrics choices I made are great and there will be something for everyone to choose from.  I of course, am selling my bags.  I can't find a job so I hope this will help tide me over.

I didn't do too well in cutting the lining and batting, but will do much better tomorrow.  I will start earlier in the day.  Stay posted and I hope to post more photos tomorrow.

New Bags

Tomorrow I will be doing my bags in the fashion of Henry Ford, an assembly line.  I will cut out four to six bags and then sew them.  I think it will take less time to do it that way.  I will find out tomorrow when I work on them.  I'll post more pictures at the end of the day tomorrow.

First Quilt

I started to quilt at the age of 29.  My first quilt was a 9-patch with sashing, and of course done in green.  Green is my favourite colour, but I do use other colours.  My first quilt was big enough for a twin bed and 24 years later I still have that first quilt.  It wasn't my best work, but it is still usable.  I don't use it because it is tied, and my cat loves to chew on yarn.  It's packed away for it's protection, not because it's ugly or anything like that.
